Skyler is a clinical social worker with a Master of Social Work from Portland State University, where she specialized in Behavioral Health Integration, and holds a Bachelor’s degree in Criminology and Criminal Justice from Southern Oregon University. With over 562 hours of community volunteer experience, she has worked alongside local agencies addressing human trafficking, immigration, homelessness, and poverty, strengthening her commitment to social justice and equitable care.
When serving others, Skyler takes into consideration Social Cognitive Learning Theory. Skyler’s professional background includes social work, case management, skills training, mental health therapy, and community justice. Skyler incorporates client-centered, trauma-informed care, and harm reduction concepts into her practices. She also integrates Somatic experiencing, Narrative Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), and Bowen Family Systems Theory into her work.
Additionally, she is also trained in Collaborative Problem Solving, Crisis Intervention, Structured Interview for Prodromal Syndromes (SIPS), and the Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs).
Skyler values building authentic therapeutic relationships where clients feel respected and empowered. She works collaboratively with clients to support building a life worth living. Fluent in Italian and Spanish, she welcomes individuals from diverse cultural backgrounds.
